Hello there,

My name is Nikki McLean and in 2016, I was awarded a scholarship to participate in the Science Teaching Leadership Program, an opportunity that led me to collaborate with Dr. Steve Humphries at Hebe Botanicals in Otaki. Dr. Humphries' business specializes in creating natural and organic healthcare products. During my time there, inspired by my roles as both a teacher and parent, I embarked on a mission to develop a natural head lice repellent.

Having experienced firsthand the challenges of lice infestations with my own children, I was driven to find a solution. Together with Dr. Humphries, after extensive research and experiments with live head lice, we identified a highly effective natural ingredient.

Upon returning to teaching the following year, I continued with my career until recent events prompted a significant change. With the onset of COVID-19, plans to bring our head lice repellent to market were temporarily halted.

This year, I made the decision to transition from full-time teaching. It was then that Steve and Sandy approached me with an exciting opportunity: to spearhead the launch of BOUNCE, our natural head lice repellent. While Hebe Botanicals handles manufacturing, I am responsible for marketing and sales.

Our journey is just beginning, and I'm thrilled to announce that BOUNCE will officially debut on the market this July. This product represents our dedication to providing families with a safe, effective, and natural solution to the persistent problem of head lice. Together, we are poised to make a meaningful impact in homes and schools, offering peace of mind and relief from this common nuisance.
